“We allow people who have an idea or want to start selling insurance to come to the table”, says Michael.
Hear about Michael’s transition from traditional insurance in to the New York-based start-up, which offers the full-stack insurance process in-house, including product development, a reinsurance facility to help place new business and R&D on insurance products.
“We mix it in with the tech to find a way to integrate the insurance process with any front end.”
Michael shares Boost’s growth plans and ambitions as well his thoughts on how the industry will adapt and change in the coming years.
With 25% of the team coming from an insurance background, Michael emphasises the value of high performing insurance talent, commenting, “If you get too wrapped up in being innovative and creative, sometimes you lose an idea of how the industry really works and the different mentalities.”
With a recent successful Series B funding round, Boost offers opportunities across the business to take things to the next level. As a huge proponent of education, Michael encourages insurance professionals to take time to understand the tech part of insurtech.
“It’s all about education. Learn everything you can and be willing to take a risk.”
